Overview

Nestled in the heart of Civitavecchia on Viale Giuseppe Garibaldi, Da Vitale is a seafood haven that captures the essence of authentic Italian coastal cuisine. This unpretentious spot draws a steady stream of locals, a testament to its reputation for fresh, high-quality seafood served without fuss.

The menu showcases classic dishes that celebrate the bounty of the sea. Spaghetti Alla Pescatora, a Fisherman’s Seafood Spaghetti brimming with shellfish and tender fish, is a standout, pairing perfectly with the lighter notes of Mussels steamed in white wine. For those craving a rich and comforting experience, the Risotto Alla Pescatora offers a creamy, flavorful depth that resonates with traditional Italian coastal cooking. The Linguine All’astice, with succulent lobster, highlights the kitchen’s dedication to fresh ingredients and refined taste.

Beyond pasta and risottos, the menu includes delectable options like Zuppa Di Pesce—a rustic fish stew—and Fritto Calamari E Gamberi, a tender fry of calamari and shrimp that pairs well with a crisp Aperol Spritz. For diners who enjoy wood-fired classics, the Pizza Capricciosa stands out, highly praised by patrons for its authentic Italian preparation. Dessert lovers can finish on a sweet note with homemade Tiramisú or Pastry Ice Cream, rounding out the meal with traditional flavors that linger pleasantly.

The atmosphere at Da Vitale is warm and inviting rather than ornate. Spacious enough to accommodate groups without the need for advance booking, it offers a laid-back experience where friendliness and attentive service create a welcoming environment. Regulars often mention the personable staff—many run by native Italians—and the charming conservatory window seats that provide a cozy place to savor a meal while watching the lively street outside.

This restaurant appeals to a broad audience: locals seeking familiar flavors, travelers drawn to genuine Italian seafood, and families or groups looking for quality dining without pretense. Da Vitale’s accessibility, both in location and service style, makes it an excellent choice for anyone craving honest, fresh seafood with an Italian soul.

In summary, Da Vitale blends genuine Italian hospitality with a menu deeply rooted in coastal tradition. Whether you’re indulging in the hearty Zuppa Di Pesce or sharing a seafood pizza with friends, the experience here is about simple, satisfying food served with warmth in a casual setting.

Maybe not the most stylish Italian restaurant, but you get very nice food for fair prices here. Lots of local visitors, whats is always a good sign. We had spaghetti frutti di mare and risott frutti di mare - all meals were perfect, fresh, tasty and in top quality. We did not have pizza (the main choice of many people), but pizza looked excellent! The restaurautant has enought places (booking not needed). Toilets were clean and new. Staff was very nice. They are open when others are not. The only downgrade was a draught beer, but that's a common problem almost everyhwere but The Czech Republic... ????????

This is probably the best restaurant in Civitavecchio, excellent menu / great Spaghetti al cartoccio - specially served with seafood / great service especially cameriere Carlo! Ristorante primarily run and managed by native Italians! Excellent pizza from the oven. I highly recommend absolute top!!

If I rated this on service alone the score would be off the scale. We knew everyone by their 1st names after an hour. The food was great with an appetiser to share, a steak/chips, seafood pizza and desserts for 2 and copious amounts of wine/ coffee/amaretto. We had a great time here and I would recommend this wholeheartedly. Window seat in the conservatory was lovely.
